Unfinished Projects: Part 4

I am finished!  It is funny how the one thing that holds you back from finishing something is often the easiest thing to do.  For my doll project, it was the hair, particularly the boy hair.  I knew I didn't what to tie the hair like I did for the girls, that meant I had to learn something new, which in my mind would be hard.  As it turned out, it was the easiest part of the entire project.

I am grateful I was able to finish these projects that have been weighing on me since 2010!  8 years I have held onto these unfinished dolls, bibs and potluck holders.  That is a long time to hold onto anything weighing on you.  My bibs have been given away, potluck holders gifted and now my dolls will go to a new home today at a home daycare center.  I know they will be loved and played, just the way I intended for them when I first started to create them.

Now on to my many books in my head all the art work that comes with them.  I hope this has inspired you to clear some of your creative clutter that you have been stowing away.

Day 1: 28 day Happiness Challenge

Go for a walk.   Yes, even if you live in a place that is currently snowing and cold.  Be safe of course, if you don't live in a safe area, drive to someplace safe.  If it is too snowy or icy wear ice cleats or consider snowshoeing or cross country skiing.  No good place to walk?  Walk around your office or a mall.  Trouble walking?  Ride a bike or do some other form of exercise to get your heart movi ng.  Studies have shown that walking improves your mood.  But don’t take my word for it.  Take 5 minute walk, just five minutes.  Do this without your phone, yes without it.  Leave it on your desk or at home.  Phone distraction negatively affects your mood.  If you can’t leave your phone for 5 minutes, then you have a bigger problem, then you may need a 10 or a 20 minute walk to break the attachment. But how will you know when you’ve walked for 5 minutes if you don’t carry your phone?  Take a good guess, use a watch, get a stop watch or a dollar store kitchen timer.  However you kee

Day 10: 28 Day Happiness Challenge

Let go of old grudges. Old built up emotions can weigh heavy on your heart and mind.   What old story are you keeping alive by not letting it go?   Who in your life has done you wrong and you are still holding it against them? How long has it been?   Yesterday, last week, a year ago, 10 years or even 30 years ago?   When you look back on that incident, what did you learn or gain from that encounter?   Were there things that you wish you would have said? Your challenge today is to find a way to make peace and let go of those old grudges. I want you to write a letter to the person you are holding anger or ill feelings for, tell them all the ways they hurt you and how much you hate them for what they did, get it all out.   Then write all the ways you are grateful and what you learned from them.   Last I want you to burn the letter.   Burning the letter is not only an act of symbolism but also uses energy to transform and release the energy in the paper and the words writing.   Take a
